Km 68:7 Mile 42.9:

Here, the King’s Byway takes a short detour off the main road. The side tour leads past more country homes and down to the banks of the Montague Harbour where you will see fishing and pleasure boats and some more mussel farming buoys.

Km 69.5: Mile 43.4:

At the bottom of the hill, look to the right and you will see a nice view of Georgetown across the harbour. Georgetown is the capital of Kings County and a year round deep water port with a long ship-building tradition.

Km 76.6: Mile 47.9:

Downtown Montague is the commercial centre of Southern King’s County. Head up the hill from the junction to Town and Country Aquatics Plus for a swim or workout, or you can continue along Main Street to the Garden of the Gulf Museum (the island's oldest museum). If you'd prefer to shop, there are many stores in the centre of town and a mall further up Main Street.

If you head across the river to the docks you can relax enjoy the river scenery.

Km 82.1: Mile 51.3:

A few kilometres past Montague you will come to the Poole’s Corner junction, you can stop in at the Provincial Visitor’s Information Centre and get your guide if you still don't have one. Poole's Corner was named after the Pooles who lived here in the 1800's. Turn right here toward Georgetown.

Km 87.8: Mile 54.9:
You should stop and visit Brudenell Resort and Provincial Park. The park section of Brudenell features family camping on the banks of the river.

Km 93: Mile 58.1:
As you enter Georgetown, named in 1765 for King George III, you will see the historic King’s County Jail and the King’s Playhouse. Stop and relax in the town gardens or take in a play. Don’t go to jail.
