Sample Tour of the South Shore
Includes a visit to a MicMac Indian Village
located at the National Historic Park site called Fort
Amherst/Port-La Joye. Here you will get to see how the early
MicMac lived and visit the site where the French established the
first European settlement on the Island. Fort Amherst was built on
the site of Port-La Joye in 1758 when the British captured Port-La Joye.
Fort Amherst/Port-La Joye offers a breathtaking view of our present
Capital, Charlottetown, from the site of PEI's first capital,
Port-La Joye.
From this location, we resume our tour along the beautiful coastal scenery of the south shore of the Island, making our way to the and tranquil village of Victoria. ,p>We continue our tour by visiting the beautiful Gateway Village in Borden, the point of entry to
Prince Edward Island off the Confederation Bridge. The south shore tour ends with the return to Charlottetown travelling throughout the beautiful Island countryside. (Please Note: Groups wishing to travel over the Confederation Bridge can request to do so. An Additional charge applies for this feature on the South Shore Tour).
