It is placed along the side of the largest cliff system on PEI, and many say it provides for the most spectacular golf views on the Island.

Highland Greens is located only 22 minutes from the Hillsboro bridge just off the # 1 Hiway in Eldon. Most visitors come to PEI to play the many fine 18 hole championship courses the island has to offer such as Crowbush, Brudenell, Eagles Glen, Fox Meadow, Glasgow Hills, Anderson's Creek and Dundarave and leave saying that for pure golf enjoyment and beauty the 9 holes at Belfast have to be played. The course was built and is owned by the community. Belfast Highland Greens was designed by local golfer Jim Kinnee with the greens being designed by Canadian architect Graham Cooke.

It is a part of one of the most unique and complete family vacation spots PEI has to offer. Adjacent Belfast Highland Greens is the 100 site provincial campground Lord Selkirk Park. It is on these grounds that the 800 strong Selkirk Settlers landed when they left Scotland in 1803 for the new land. The strong cultural presence is still evident on the site with memorial cairns, annual Highland games, restored pioneer cemetery and the recently relocated historic Church of Scotland that was moved from Belle River.

The expansion of the covered stage on the site makes it an attractive location for family reunions and corporate events and the sloping grounds in front of the stage makes for a natural amphitheater effect. Concerts are staged every Friday night throughout the summer for the enjoyment of visitors and Islanders alike.

On the grounds are three swimming pools, a miniature golf course and beautiful gardens featuring both annual and perennial plants, picnic tables, a canteen and a covered eating area. The park is located on the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait and features a large sand flat extending some 800 yards off shore, a great safe place for children to play in the water. About 40 Great Blue Herons take up residence in the flat each summer and provide entertainment for bird watchers. Every day at low tide families gather on the flats and dig for both bar clams and quahogs.

Belfast Highland Greens and Lord Selkirk Park are a family vacation paradise. There are plenty of accommodations in the area for vacationers and feature everything from camping, cottages, summer homes, beach houses and executive homes/chalets for every taste and price range.
