Beach Point has one of the most scenic and safe sunning and swimming locations anywhere. A series of sand bars are out of water at low tide, twice a day. The warm summer sun heats the sand and the clean, salt water absorbs this warmth as it returns from the sea. Nature walks and picnics are more enjoyable here as one can explore the nearby cliffs and seashores. The family dog is especially happy to race the free surf and fetch for fun things. Beach Point has one of the most prosperous fishing ports in the province. Sometimes a local fisherman welcomes the company of visitors as he jigs for mackerel in the channel entering the Murray Estuary.
